I want to put a flower garden in the yard in front of my house, but I’m not sure what I would be able to use. Since that side of the house faces the west, it doesn’t get sunlight until the afternoon. I’ve looked around at a few different green houses to get some ideas, but all I find is plants that require full sun. I would like to get flowers or small shrubs or maybe even some climbing flowers. Any suggestions??? Thanks!

I live in NC and I’d like to start a small flower garden in front of my home. It’s in an area that gets sunlight periodically during the day. I believe there used to be flowers there because there’s a decorative brick border around the area but it’s overrun with weeds and there are no flowers there now. The soil is pretty good I’d say…not too dry or hard. How do I start a flower garden? I’m interested in some periennials and some annuals…can those be grown together?

Lately I’ve been at home bored when I’m not at work and I want something to do to keep my occupied, so I was thinking of planting some flowers. What kind of flowers are good to plant during the summer months (considering the hot weather and such). I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth are of Texas if that helps. They will be in the shade of a tree but at some point during the day might get direct sunlight. I want colorful flowers but am not sure which will work… Thanks!

I live in Texas and it gets in the 100’s sometimes. I have looked at Lowes and gotten flowers that said “direct sunlight” but they always end up dying, I guess from the extreme heat. Anyone have any ideas on what I can plant this spring?

I also water everyday, and put miracle grow on them when I plant them. Are there any other tips or tricks to keeping annuals alive?

I have two 1.5ft X .75ft (roughly) pots. I want flowers in them.
They are outside on my windowsill, and they would get enough sunlight. I’m also responsible enough to water them.

But i still need to know what kinds of plants i want in them!

I want color and something that can be planted close to other plants. (No big roots.)

What kinds of flowers am i looking for?
