And I need to avoid the possibility of it falling off but it doesn’t drop on to the ground, it just hangs on the hair, which would look funny.

try keeping the stem long, and using bobby pins to hold it in along the stem. tell your partner to swish her head around before to see if its gonna come off/hang there.

Well, have her stick it behind her ear, use a little clip or bobby pin. Bobby pins are less noticeable so have her put the flower behind her ear and sort of attach it with the bobby pin clipping the stem and hair. Or have her stick the flower behind her ear, and tuck the stem into her hair.
It’s no big deal if you can’t do it, afterall
she’s a girl! She knows how to do these things, she’ll figure it out
