Now, before you start thinking that I’m full of myself, let me explain what this is really all about.
In a blog post I made, I talked about the need for your site to actually be related to the links that point to it. One example I gave was the coolest guy on the planet search phrase, versus the miserable failure search phrase.
In the past, searching for “miserable failure” brought up a completely unrelated web page. Due to Google’s new algorithm that does away with the “Google bomb” or “link bomb” effect, that is no longer the case.
My post discussed why this doesn’t work anymore.
In one of the comments on that post, Alex Newell suggested that I setup a site and try to get it to rank for the phrase “coolest guy on the planet”, using the site to test various linking strategies and methods, etc.
Thus my the coolest guy on the planet site was born.
What I am attempting to prove is that by following the directions Google gives in its Webmaster Guidelines, you can rank a site for a keyword phrase using 100% “white hat” methods.
In the pages of the site you will see outlined the methods I am using, and the progress I am making in implementing each of the steps from Google’s guidelines.
As of right now, the site is ranked #1 in Google for “coolest guy on the planet”, but I also want to be ranked #1 for “the coolest guy on the planet”, so I’m still working on it.
When I first purchased my laptop, I was very hesitant to take out the laptop insurance. I mean, it sounded pretty pointless to me because what could possible happen? I had six inches of water throughout my house. My furniture, rugs and other belongings were all submerged in water. So was my laptop.
My heart stopped. I picked up my soggy, dripping laptop and opened it. It was ruined. I looked around at my soggy home and felt completely hopeless. My income depends on my laptop and now, with the expense of repairing the pipe as well as cleaning the mess there was no way I could afford another computer, not even a used one! I sank to my bed, still clutching the laptop, completely at a loss as to what to do. My mind was reeling, I felt dizzy. How was I going to work without a computer?
That is when I remembered that I had taken out Student laptop insurance! I retrieved my policy from my dresser drawer and began to review the terms. To my absolute delight I realized that it covered water damage! I have since done extensive research and found that most insurance companies exclude water damage from their policies. Fortunately, my insurance company included it and my laptop was covered. This was very good news in light of such a bad situation. My spirits were lifted and my hopes soared. I had laptop insurance that covered water damage. I would be just fine.
I got the pipe repaired and cleaned up the mess. I did lose some of my belongings, they were ruined beyond repair. I had to incur additional expenses to replace many of those things. After the bank forecloses they will try to sell the property themselves. Usually they just want the get the property off from their books and they will drop the price until the property sells. This is often a way to get a really good price on a property. Also, many times the bank has made some of the necessary repairs to sell the property. Even so these homes are still sold “as is” but in this case the buyer will be able to make the necessary inspections.
Whenever you purchase real estate you should do your own due diligence and independent research to make sure that the property is appropriate to meet your needs. You also need to make sure that you have the funds available through your own cash fund or from financing. This will make sure that your purchase goes as planned.
But as a savvy investor buying real estate right now makes sense because right now in this current economic climate, real estate is “on sale”!
